Setting up our 15th Rural Digital Library
How tablets, internet accessibility, and interactive learning tools are reversing school dropouts in rural Anantapur villages.
Digital exclusion is a major barrier for rural school kids, who have no access to computers, tablets, or broadband internet. While urban children benefit from virtual classes and online research tools, village children are restricted to static, outdated textbooks.
Sri Satya Society has taken a major step toward bridging the digital divide by opening our 15th Rural Digital Library in Anantapur district. We convert underutilized community rooms into modern learning spaces, complete with tablets, high-speed Wi-Fi, and solar backup systems.
The tablets are pre-loaded with localized educational software, animated math lessons, and science games aligned with the state curriculum. This makes learning highly engaging, resulting in a dramatic increase in student interest and school attendance.
Local youth are trained to act as library supervisors and digital mentors, guiding students through educational apps. This library is now a thriving hub where children do homework, explore interactive science projects, and acquire basic computer skills.
“Our vision is to build an Andhra Pradesh where access to qualitative primary education and basic medical clinics is not dictated by a family’s financial standing, creating self-reliant village ecosystems.”
