Fostering local tailoring classes and micro-credit self-help groups (SHG) to create financial independence.

Economic dependency is one of the key factors that limit the agency and development of women in rural Andhra Pradesh. Without independent access to income, women often have a limited say in family welfare, healthcare decisions, and children's higher education.

The Sri Satya Society's Women Livelihood Program is designed to enable financial self-reliance. We set up tailoring training centers in villages where women learn stitching, embroidery, and garment design. This 6-month program equips them with a marketable skill that can be practiced right from their homes.

Upon graduation, outstanding students are gifted sewing machines to jumpstart their micro-enterprises. Additionally, we assist women in forming Self-Help Groups (SHGs) that promote micro-savings and provide small, interest-free loans to help members expand their small business operations.

Today, hundreds of rural women who once depended entirely on seasonal farm work are earning a stable monthly income, contributing directly to their children's education and lifting their households into sustainable economic security.

Sri Satya Education and Service Welfare Society Vision

“Our vision is to build an Andhra Pradesh where access to qualitative primary education and basic medical clinics is not dictated by a family’s financial standing, creating self-reliant village ecosystems.”
