Educating rural kids in Andhra Pradesh
Bringing learning kits, teachers, and textbooks directly to children whose families cannot afford schooling expenses.
In many remote villages across Andhra Pradesh, particularly in districts like Anantapur and Kurnool, children of daily-wage agricultural laborers face significant barriers to basic education. Often, the cost of textbooks, transport, and simple school supplies forces families to pull their children out of classrooms to assist in household chores or farm labor.
The Sri Satya Education and Service Welfare Society launched the Rural Education Support Initiative to break this cycle. By working directly with government primary schools, we supply children with comprehensive learning kits containing textbooks, writing materials, and educational games. This relieves families of the immediate financial burden of school enrollment.
In addition to physical materials, we support rural schools by sponsoring local teaching assistants. These assistants conduct after-school remedial sessions to ensure children who have fallen behind receive personalized attention. Over the past year, we have seen a 30% reduction in dropout rates across 24 participating village schools.
We believe that every child, regardless of their family's economic status, deserves the chance to read, write, and explore their potential. This program is a step toward building a self-reliant generation that can lead their families out of poverty.
“Our vision is to build an Andhra Pradesh where access to qualitative primary education and basic medical clinics is not dictated by a family’s financial standing, creating self-reliant village ecosystems.”
